So what’s the actual difference?
Traditional mudjacking pumps a cement and soil slurry through a 1-inch hole to lift sunken slabs back into place. It’s been around a long time, it works, and for most residential jobs it gets the same result at a lower cost.
Polyurethane foam injection uses a lightweight expanding foam through a smaller 5/8-inch hole. The cure time is faster, there’s less patching, and it doesn’t add weight to already unstable soil. You’ll pay more for those advantages, but sometimes they’re worth it.
Both methods can lift and level driveways, patios, sidewalks, and garage floors. Both work well for filling voids under slabs. The right choice really comes down to your soil conditions, slab thickness, and budget, and we’ll give you a straight answer on which one fits your situation.
